Below please find the study guide and flashcards to help you study.
We spent the week in the library working on our research papers and projects. Each student has a partner and were assigned an Ancient Civilization to write a 2-5 page research paper on using five sources from the library. In addition, they will be required to present a 5-8 minute oral presentation to the class with a visual aid and some type of handout. These will commence the week of 9/24.
All classes did an awesome job this week in the library!
Today we started by discussing Cause and Effect and then launched into a lecture on Mesopotamia - "The Cradle of Civilization". Highlights of the day were discussing various cause and effects of how farming and being able to store food led to the development of cities and civilizations. After the lecture, the students worked on a cause and effect worksheet, trying to find the relationship between various things that happened leading up to the "Land between the Rivers".
Welcome back from a great long weekend! Today we quickly reviewed the reading from the weekend over Pre-History to Civilization and then took a short answer quiz consisting of 10 questions. When students were finished they began work on the Stone Age worksheet which asked them to be an archaeologist and draw conclusions about the people who made the penny. They were required to briefly describe these people and their ways of living based on information found on the coin. We then debriefed.
